Assistant Apparel Designer

The Assistant Designer role will focus on assisting the development of apparel and accessory products for mens, women, youth, and accessories. This role will directly report to and support Jetty’s Creative Director, CCO, and Sr Apparel Designer.

Responsibilities:

Create and modify tech packs (graphic tees, technical outwear, knit, cut-n-sew, etc.)
Update and create TP’s, BOM, WIP, merch layouts, and forecast/plan sheets
Create, measure, and maintain size specification sheets across all apparel categories
Create and update CADs in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Evaluate and approve/revise swatches, lab dips, prints, and trim samples
Sit in on fittings and take impeccable notes to be communicated to vendors
Unbox, ship/receive, and manage all development samples
Research and identify design, fashion, and cultural trends
Create and present new design trends and concepts both verbally and visually
Develop color story, artwork, and textile prints for all-over and engineered prints
Create unique design directions based on trend forecasts
Follow design direction established by the Creative Director and team
Collaborate across departments with our branding, marketing, and ecom teams
Sample & swatch inventory organization and management
Work with domestic and overseas manufacturing partners via email and phone
Organize and maintain a detailed WIP sheet tracking every development sample. 

Requirements:

Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Photoshop CC (Expert)
Microsoft Office
Word, Excel or equivalent.
Assemble a detailed technical package to communicate proper instruction to factories for development.
Knowledgeable in pattern making, garment construction, and manufacturing including factory machinery, procedures and methods
Experience in assigning easily understood points of measure that will progress the style through development and secure the fit during production QC inspections.
Prioritize and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
Pro-active problem solving and ability to adapt quickly to changes.
Driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency.
Ability to understand and fully incorporate the brand’s aesthetic
Analysis of garment construction, manufacturing methods, and quality control procedures
Ability to multi-task
