Oystex
APPAREL MADE FROM OYSTER SHELLS AND RECYCLED PLASTIC
Jetty’s new eco-friendly OYSTEX fabric blends pulverized oyster shells with recycled polyester (RPET) to create a soft and breathable fabric without limiting stretch or durability.
THE PROCESS
From the water to your wardrobe

Phase 1
OYSTER SHELLS
Oyster shells are recycled and then pulverized into a fine powder consisting of calcium carbonate.

Phase 2
PLASTIC BOTTLES
The oyster shell powder is then combined with recycled plastic (RPET).

Phase 3
PELLETS
The crushed oyster shell and recycled plastic are molded into small pellets.

Phase 4
The pellets are then melted and strung into yarn, which is used to create our Oystex garments.
