Clam Jam POSTPONED for 9/11 & 9/12

The 15th Annual Jetty Clam Jam will NOT run on September 11th or 12th.  Year in and year out it is such a tough decision, especially when there is swell in the water, but Hurricane Larry just isn't producing the right ingredients for Long Beach Island.  The integrity of the Clam Jam has been upheld due to close-outs and South wind, so we will reconvene next week and see what is in store for September 18th & 19th!  We appreciate your patience and schedule juggling!   Read More...

No Clam Jam Streak at 6...

We're not running out of time, this is just the way that the wait for Clam Jam-worthy surf on a weekend goes!  The Jam will not take place on 10/17 or 10/18 this weekend.  We still have a couple of weekends left in OCT, but note that if it does not go down this month, then we can exercise the option to have it on any day of the week (in November)... Clam Jam Postponed

We have the longest window in the history of the Clam Jam this year and were already faced with a very tough call for this weekend - the Jam is postponed and will not run on Saturday 9/12 or Sunday 9/13.  There will be some energy out there this weekend, so go grab some waves!  We're banking on better conditions with more favorable winds, hopefully in September, as storms line up to march our way. Legends of the Jams

Bill Machotka & Randy Budd, our absolute rock star operators of the Clam & Coquina Jams, are hanging up their mics this year!  Make no doubt about it, we're sad, but these two professionals have put in more then their fair share of volunteer hours planning, organizing, setting up, running and breaking down our surf events.  We will forever be indebted to them for their service and contribution toward growing our community events!  As we approach our 12th Annual Coquina Jam, we'd love for some ladies to step up and volunteer!  If interested, please fill out the Coquina Jam Volunteer... 13th Annual Clam Jam

Wow, we can't believe that we've been running our annual Clam Jam surf contest for 13 years now!  This year, we're opening up another September weekend (2 total) with 4 potential early Fall days to run the event.  We're also dedicating this one to our main man Pat Harrington who is battling through Hodgkin's Lymphoma and some nasty chemo treatments that are going to keep him out of the water for a while.  Registration is now open, and we're seeking sponsorships as well.  Check out all of the details at JettyClamJam.com! The first (96) surfers to register will have their... Read More...

Ogre & J-Law hoist the Clam!

Above: New names on the trophy by Dan Przygocki After a Nor'easter blew through the coast, the 12th Annual Jetty Clam Jam finally went down on Sunday, October 28th!  The Jam was held at 68th Street in Brant Beach for the first time and naysayers were put to shame by 4-6ft+ hollow waves that pumped from dawn to dusk.  An epic final pitted Steve Carpitella & Josh Law against Jamie Whitesell & Jetty Ambassador Pete Machotka.  J-law instantly scratched through a front side barrel and landed a monstrous floater to open up the heat.  Machotka countered with a big back...
