Last Saturday, Royce Weber & Conor Willem surfed powerfully through 6 heats and eventually defeated Jon Coen & Pete Machotka. All four names will be engraved on the coveted clam. Upon being paired with Conor, Royce immediately booked a flight home from CA with his eyes on a three-peat. It was the first day in Clam Jam history that the event went off on the first day of the waiting period (thank you Hurricane Earl). In other news, we are moving the Clam Jam over to the Jetty Rock Foundation beginning next year and running it as a charitable event. Surfers will not notice any difference in the contest structure, but we'll be pumping up the sponsorship aspect so as to raise funds for our environmental, community and storm relief initiatives!
