Which Craft surf gathering to raise stoke & funds on the Outer Banks

The moment our longtime Ambassador John Streit connected us to the Outer Banks’ Which Craft Surf Gathering, we knew this was the kind of event and cause we were built to support.

Held annually since 2020, Which Craft brings the Outer Banks surfing community together for a series of events culminating with a contest where competitors ride unique alternative surfboards created by local shapers (the blanks are donated by Jetty retailer WRV, and the cost of materials and labor are donated by the shapers).

This year’s event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Byrd Street Beach Access in Kitty Hawk, NC from 7:30am to 5pm (Rain Date Sunday, Oct. 4).  An awards party will follow the contest at Swells’a Brewing in Kill Devil Hills.

Before each heat, surfers spin a wheel and ride the board they land on.  Style, originality, and stoke count just as much as skill!

The boards showcased in the competition are then put up for auction with all proceeds benefiting the Outer Banks Relief Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to easing the financial burdens of local families facing serious illnesses or personal tragedies.

A big part of the fundraising push comes through the sales of the annual contest T-shirts, which is exactly where we knew we could make the greatest impact. The Jetty Rock Foundation covers all costs for the contest T’s, which are custom printed by Jetty Ink.  In our first year supporting the event in 2025, shirt sales were a part of Which Craft raising a total of more than $25,500 for OBRF!

We’re back on board this year and looking forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Which Craft and the Outer Banks community!  If you are on the Outer Banks, live close by, or want to make a weekend of this incredible charitable event, here are the details:
