Above: Gilly pulling into a frosty one this past DEC by Tim Torchia Jetty has long been built on work ethic and that’s why today we are proud to announce that Mark Gilmartin is joining the Jetty family of Ambassadors. Fearless yet calculated in serious swell, he is an owner of Summertime Surf Schools, sharing his passion with the next generation. Born in Belmar, a town that has always embraced Jetty, Gilly made his mark early in competitive surfing, then earned dual degrees in International Business & Finance (and heavy water barrels) from Hawaii Pacific University. Since then, he has helped build Summertime Surf School to five locations in addition to leading their Advanced Surf Grom Team. Between travel and selling real estate (like we said, work ethic), Gilly has helped set a new standard in New Jersey’s most substantial winter swells. During this winter’s most recent salvo of south swells, he made his mark on one outstanding wave after another with deep barrels and crafty rail work.
