Above: The Old Causeway Steak & Oyster House, the LBI Region's first restaurant to recycle oyster shell (2015) How do you recycle an oyster? When dining at any of our amazing partnering restaurants, simply chuck your shuck into our bucket! The rest is taken care of by Long Beach Township (picking up the shells on a weekly route), Parson's Mariculture (storing, curing, and setting the shells), and the Stockton University Marine Field Station (transporting shell to the research lease / reef). The Oyster Recycling Program is truly a partnership that can only benefit our environment if everyone has a hand in it ~ Eat Oysters and improve our Barnegat Bay! Partnering Restaurants in the LBI Region: The Old Causeway Steak & Oyster House, Bluewater Cafe, Parker's Garage & Oyster Saloon, Stefano's, Ship Bottom Shellfish, The Arlington, Tucker's Tavern, Bistro 14, & Howard's Restaurant.
