It has been nearly two years since we held our inaugural Paws for a Cause event on April 27, 2019. We had to cancel the 2nd annual this past Spring, but are currently virtualizing it in order to complete our goal: to connect Lily, a Type-1 Diabetic, with Fred, her diabetic alert dog! Fred, a standard poodle, has been trained to smell dangerously low and high blood sugar levels on Lily and provide a level of security as she approaches adulthood. Lily will also get lots of love and emotional support from Fred, resulting in an increased sense of security and balance while living with Type 1 Diabetes. Fred and Lily have already met and share a special bond. We have already raised over $16,000 but we still have some funds to raise as Fred is now ready to go home with Lily and start their life together.
