Southern Regional students in the Entrepreneurship elective spent the day at our facility last Friday getting their first look at how our Eco-friendly, water-based screen printing system works! In year #2 of our Future Leaders program, 3 of the 6 high school groups had a hands-on experience and printed their first wave of garments. Their cause-related projects (each group is selling in order to donate to a Southern Regional charity) included the Southern Regional Education Foundation, Food Bank, and Lorenzi Fund. We've been helping to guide them since September, from design and budgeting, to marketing and sales, with the goal of teaching them as much as we can about entrepreneurship, small business, and paying it forward! The remaining projects will be printed this Thursday as we'll enjoy a visit from Southern Regional's Class of 2017, David's Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation, and Clothe-a-Child student groups. The Future Leaders program is funded by our Jetty Rock Foundation and we can assure you that it feels good to pass down our knowledge with hopes that the students will be able to avoid some of the pitfalls that we have stumbled over and learned from!
