Even if it's only been a few years, sometimes the wait for a band's new record can feel like an eternity, as in the case of Baltimore's Future Islands. Thankfully they're back with the follow-up to their 2014 album! The band began writing new material in 2016 on the coast of North Carolina, and continued throughout the year in Baltimore before road-testing their songs at a series of secret shows under fake names. The new album, The Far Field, has twelve chest-pounding love songs and odes to the road, including a track featuring Debbie Harry of Blondie.
