Nicotine & Brown

Formerly known as Varton & the Sand Crabs, Brian Parnagian, Jared Temple & Steve McGlynn have been polishing their sound and have really taken a step forward with their band, Nicotine & Brown (official Facebook page & MySpace page). These guys played in the lobby at our New Year’s Eve bash last year and also at a viewing of A Pleasant Surprise back on August 2nd @ the Long Beach Township ball field. Brian has surfed for Jetty since our inception and Jared just did a little modeling work for our Fall/Winter shoot (photos coming soon)! Great guys, great vibes – we highly suggest checking out one of their shows!

Jetty loves Boobies!

We’d like to thank everyone that came out and supported the 2nd Annual Coquina Jam last night – the surfers, the sponsors, the volunteers – what an amazing event! Jetty, The Black Whale Bar & Fish House & Speakeasy Pizza raised over $1000 for breast cancer which will be donated to Boarding for Breast Cancer (more then double the amount we raised last year)! The conditions were great and the girls truly put on an eye-opening display of surfing wave after wave. Congrats to the four teams which will move on to the Clam Jam this OCT and compete for the Coquina trophy: Mary Frack & Taylor Herman, Allie Panetta & Nicole Schmidt, Deb Green & Corey DeStefano and Kim Kepich & Jessica Johnson. Here are a few shots of the event by Ann Coen & Alex Rivera with plenty more to follow. In addition, a great article by Jon Coen that ran in The Press of Atlantic City today.

2nd Annual Coquina Jam a go!

We’re on for the 2nd annual, all-female surf contest tomorrow (Wednesday, 8/25) @ 5pm at 68th Street in Brant Beach. Come on out and support the 32, brave, LBI-area women who are competing in the bracket-style, team-oriented surf tournament! The contest also benefits breast cancer so attending the beach and buying a slice of pizza, plate of clams, soda, water, jetty coozie or Coquina Jam T will help us raise money for a great cause (Boarding for Breast Cancer). Check out some photos from last year’s event – get siked!
