Teddy was a Bear...

Above: Randy Townsend courtesy of Jim Givas Hurricane Teddy was a bear, but not the type that you want to poke.  We're sure that plenty of photos will be rolling in, but here are a couple from our hometown heroes Randy Townsend and Pete Machotka in the meantime! The Cold War is ON!

Above: Randy Townsend by Michael Cassella Twenty of the best surfers around are going to dual it out tomorrow on Long Beach Island (NJ) when the Cold War goes down!  We're stoked to support Captain Randy Townsend and homeboy Conor Willem, who are both surfing on the same team.  Come check out the innovative format and the best surfing you'll see this month in our backyard, on the South end of LBI! The Bounty

Something often missed is the interaction between our Ambassadors.  This past Winter we captured too many familiar faces hunting waves up and down the East Coast.  Check out The Bounty, an ode to our roots in the crazy, fun, ever-changing landscape of the industry that gave us our start back in 2003.  Draw Your Own Line! Captain Sunday

Above: Courtesy of Dan Przygocki Jetty Captain Randy Townsend says that Sundays have been the day for surf this January.  You can see from both land and sea that last Sunday blessed NJ with quality waves.  Let's hope for another great day on the last one of the month this weekend! EP's Dream Board Meeting

Equity Prime is one of our biggest supporters, in fact, they sponsored every event and initiative that we executed in 2019!  They recently went on the ultimate team-building mission to Slater's Wave Ranch, and well, they scored!  Jetty Captain Randy Townsend accompanied them along with photog Trevor Murphy, so we're sure there are plenty more memorable pics in the bank.  Here a few of the "rewards" for helping us make these recent donations via our Jetty Rock Foundation...thank you for the amazing support! $6,800 - 10th Annual Bridge Walk funds donated to (5) area schools $11,910 - Crabbin' for a Cause... Looking Ahead of Dorian

Above: Jetty Captain Randy Townsend by Dan Przygocki We saw so many tubes from Dorian in what some are calling the best hurricane-based swell Long Beach Island (NJ) has seen in 10 years, but at what cost?  Amongst the rampant stoke from last Saturday, we're being asked by our fans what they can do to support the Bahamas.  We have a great list of current charitable initiatives (below), so if you are interested in helping our fellow Bahamians recover, then we are suggesting the following two avenues for donations.  Both W4W and Team Rubicon are trusted nonprofits with boots on... Last Leg of Summer

Trust us, we're not trying to rush your Summer, but Back-to-School is upon us and we're excited about all of our new Fall gear!  Jetty Captain Randy Townsend tested our new Fall boardies out long ago during a few sessions with Trevor Murphy behind the lens.  We also have a slew of new graphic tees, so although our Fall line traditionally (and still) is packed with flannels and stuff for the cold, we've expanded it to include new warm-weather items too! Childhood Dreams

Jetty Ambassador Ben Raimo doesn't get to spend much time with his friends from Jersey nowadays.  In celebrating Jetty Captain Randy Townsend's 40th on a recent trip to Indo, Ben had the chance to surf and hang with some hometown boys.  It wasn't all glorious though, as Raimo readily admitted taking some beatings.  In his words, you gotta pay to play, but sharing waves with lifelong friend Danny Mears turned those posters on their bedroom walls into reality.  Pretty pictures and tubes coming at a costly price, but all worth it... Mental-wais

Jetty Captain Randy Townsend recently returned from another epic trip to the Mentawais.  RT has been to the depths of Indo many times, most recently sharing his knowledge and a 115ft schooner with some old friends (and a few first-timers).  We're sure there will be plenty of ridiculous content to follow, welcome home boys! Marching into Spring

Above: Ambassador Dave Werner by Matt Reitinger  This Winter certainly wasn't a Top 10-type of season in the Northeast, but on the bright side Spring is here!  New Jersey isn't quite known for swells this time of year, but at least we can spend more time outside and enjoy some more sunlight.  And hey, you never know when an epic session is upon us.  Here's a quick look back at a couple of days in March that didn't disappoint! Do What You Love Longer

All of our Solar Shirts are moisture wicking and UPF 50+!  Jetty Ambassador Randy Townsend recently field tested them in Central America where the sun demands that surfers and fishermen alike protect their skin.  We want to keep you out there doing what you love...check out our full offering of Solars as well as a shot of RT courtesy of Trevor Murphy. A Few More Boards...

Above: Randy Townsend by Trevor Murphy Okay, one more flashback to first heavy swell of the cold season on the East Coast!  As Surfline's Slam Dunk Swell feature states, this wasn't the biggest swell, but it was pretty mean, and our Ambassadors definitely logged some for the memory bank.  Did you paddle?  Get slammed?  Break a board?  We've heard it all...on to the next (colder; bigger) one...! NO Jammin'...12th Annual Clam Jam is POSTPONED!

Above: Randy Townsend by Tim Torchia Despite some sizable swell in the water, the 12th Annual Jetty Clam Jam will not run on October 6th or 7th this weekend.  We hold the Jam in high regard and the long period swell + unfavorable winds just isn't doing it for us.  We appreciate everyone (especially wives and girlfriends) juggling their plans and we know that plenty will still jump in this weekend in search of a little window.  If you are in the LBI Region, do join us for a new event, the Oyster Shellabration, which is a fundraiser for our Oyster... On the beach @ The Belmar PRO

International Vibes

Above: Jetty Ambassador Randy Townsend, ready for Summer by Kyle G. As I type this post, I'm overwhelmed with the thoughts of what Surfing has done for me and so many others worldwide.  The feeling that surfing brings to you, from your first time standing up to getting a sick one, is a somewhat indescribable joy!  On Saturday, June 16th we celebrate International Surfing Day, a nod to the sport, the lifestyle and all of the sustainability that comes with it.  We have a laundry list, but would love to know how surfing has inspired you to Draw Your Own... Wingate Makes Finals

Jetty Ambassador Ben Wingate cruised into the finals at the NSSA Regionals in New Smyrna Beach (FL) this past weekend!  You can check out all of the results here.  Ben surfed great against some stiff comp from fellow East Coast competitors.  Jetty Captain  Randy Townsend, who dedicates his time to coaching in Jersey, was also in town to help guide these young men ~ great stuff guys! Murphy x Townsend Goods

Photog Trevor Murphy travels around the world and puts himself in front of some of the best waves that Mother Ocean has to offer.  It's pretty nice for New Jersey to be a feather in his cap this Winter as swell after swell simply produced the goods.  Jetty Captain Randy Townsend is a common subject on the other side of Trevor's lens, and although they are in two different destinations at the moment, we're amping on this look back to Dirty Jersey...    Read More...

The Life of Riley: Part II

Above: RT attacking on a ridiculously small stick by Jersey Mike After days and days of tubes, more content is surfacing from Winter Storm Riley.  Jetty Captain  Randy Townsend played host to plenty of pros, friends and anyone else who braved the flooding, drift and morphing, Army Corp of Engineers-assisted waves.  This was a stretch of waves that the boys will be talking about for a long time, and it is best captured by the world traveling Trevor Murphy... Hometown Drifters

Above: RT sliding into one with Kyle Gronostajski behind a frozen lens Jetty Captain Randy Townsend recently surfaced at home in typical fashion, inside of a drifty, left tube!  Randy joined fellow Ambassador Pete Machotka as he entered the realm of fatherhood in 2017.  Pete has the experiential edge in the latter category, but as for the barrels, there's a clear case of the student vs. the teacher!
