EP's Dream Board Meeting

Equity Prime is one of our biggest supporters, in fact, they sponsored every event and initiative that we executed in 2019!  They recently went on the ultimate team-building mission to Slater's Wave Ranch, and well, they scored!  Jetty Captain Randy Townsend accompanied them along with photog Trevor Murphy, so we're sure there are plenty more memorable pics in the bank.  Here a few of the "rewards" for helping us make these recent donations via our Jetty Rock Foundation...thank you for the amazing support! $6,800 - 10th Annual Bridge Walk funds donated to (5) area schools $11,910 - Crabbin' for a Cause... Party with a Purpose

We certainly Party with a Purpose, and our last major event of the year, the LBT Oyster Shellabration was no exception!  The 2nd annual event featured 9 of the LBI Region's oyster farmers who shucked the day away, but also focused on educating the public.  The event benefits the Oyster Recycling Program, the first municipal-run initiative of its kind in New Jersey.  We're excited to elevate our contribution to coastal waters as we usher in 2020, and thanks to you we have considerable funds to keep the needle moving!   Read More...

NO Jammin'...12th Annual Clam Jam is POSTPONED!

Above: Randy Townsend by Tim Torchia Despite some sizable swell in the water, the 12th Annual Jetty Clam Jam will not run on October 6th or 7th this weekend.  We hold the Jam in high regard and the long period swell + unfavorable winds just isn't doing it for us.  We appreciate everyone (especially wives and girlfriends) juggling their plans and we know that plenty will still jump in this weekend in search of a little window.  If you are in the LBI Region, do join us for a new event, the Oyster Shellabration, which is a fundraiser for our Oyster... Always At Bay...

Above: A drainer tide makes for easy picking for he Barnegat Oyster Collective For all of the time that we spend surfing, diving and gliding in and on the ocean, don't forget that our backwater bays are equally important!  The view that clam and oyster farmers have is quite spectacular, and don't think for a second that a cold Winter in the Northeast stopped them, they are constantly out there tending to their farms.  As our film The Oyster Farmers enters its second screening season and our Oyster Recycling Program grows, we'll be sure to continue to give you insight on... Oyster Recycling Program PSA: Part IV

Above: Stockton University students travel to the oyster reef to do research Did you know that donating $1 equates to the filtering of 1 million gallons of water per year?!  We did all of the math for you as presented in this 4th and final installment of our Oyster Recycling Program PSA!  At the end of the day, our initiative puts shell back into the Barnegat Bay.  The shell creates a potential birthplace for millions of new oysters.  As we continue to monitor the research lease, we hope to build more oyster reefs which will lead to great results like... Osyter Recycling Program PSA: Part II

Above: One of the few local oyster farms reviving the oyster culture (Forty North)  Last week we released Part I of our Oyster Recycling Program PSA, and now we're ready to share more about The Amazing Oyster!  The LBI Region was once a hub for oyster farming for the entire East Coast, but now the industry is a shell of its former self.  This segment of our PSA introduces a fact that isn't as widely known as you might think, oysters filter water.  Oyster spat also need a shell or hard surface to set on, but our Barnegat Bay is... Oyster Recycling Program PSA: Part I

We're proud of all the charitable initiatives powered by Jetty, but the Oyster Recycling Program has us really excited!  The idea spawned from our support and sponsorship of The Oyster Farmers film.  In 2017, our Jetty Rock Foundation partnered with Long Beach Township, Stockton University, Parsons Mariculture, and several local restaurants on a grassroots initiative to put oysters back into the Barnegat Bay.  This pilot program quickly grew into a larger awareness campaign and we'd love for you to have a hand in it!  Check out Part I of our Oyster Recycling Program PSA and learn more at FollowTheShell.com.
