Marching into Spring

Above: Ambassador Dave Werner by Matt Reitinger  This Winter certainly wasn't a Top 10-type of season in the Northeast, but on the bright side Spring is here!  New Jersey isn't quite known for swells this time of year, but at least we can spend more time outside and enjoy some more sunlight.  And hey, you never know when an epic session is upon us.  Here's a quick look back at a couple of days in March that didn't disappoint! Welcome Tom Petriken

Above: Courtesy of Hunter DeNicola We're stoked to officially announce Tom Petriken as a Jetty Ambassador!  Tom has been surfing since age 7, following in the footsteps of both of his parents who spent plenty of time in the Atlantic.  You may have seen his VW bus in Monmouth County, NJ (and beyond) which symbolizes the soul of a surfer who has grown beyond competition.  We can't wait to tell you more about Tom's story throughout 2019, welcome aboard!      Read More...

Quiet, We're Hunting Kegs!

Quiet, we're hunting kegs...and they are really, really cold ones!  We're getting down on Last Wave Brewing Co.'s NJ Keg Hunter video contest!  Check out the details below straight from Last Wave Co-owner Nick Jiorle... The New Jersey surf community is unlike any other—progressive, passionate, and tight-knit. The men and women who brave the elements and dredging barrels of our state deserve a contest like no other. NJ Keg Hunter is an online video submission contest designed to compare the best waves the Garden State has to offer in a format that allows the community to help determine who comes... Read More...

Dan P. is Out There!

It is a pleasure to have the multi-talented Dan Przygocki in our HQ on a weekly basis!  Dan works production for Jetty Ink, but when the waves turn up, then we turn him loose.  This past week proved to produce some very pretty photos from the lens of a guy who is not afraid to get out there in the middle of Winter! Avery and A Few More

Above: Dennis O'Connor by Tim Torchia Winter Storm Avery left the Northeast surf contingent frothing, and the content has been heavy ever since.  As blue collar aficionados, we tend to have multiple passions (options), but when the waves are punting, then we usually drop everything and paddle!  Our Ambassadors got rubber'd up and hit the Atlantic with their best these past couple of swells... Next on Pfeil

The ocean in the Northeast is starting to get that angry look.  We hunker down, but continuously check the waves, waiting for the wind to switch after a big blow.  Here we have longtime Jetty Ambassador Dave Werner pulling into a throaty one on his backside courtesy of Chris Pfeil...and finishing with a solid turn off the top! NSSA State Champs

We were busy getting shacked at the 12th Annual Jetty Clam Jam, but let's not forget about some great performances at the NSSA State Championships!  Jetty Ambassadors  Keaton Fortney & Morgan Iglay led the charge and took home the title in Longboard & Womens respectively!  It's also worth noting that Jetty Ink client Manasquan High School took home their 5th straight Northeast State title.  What a stellar day of waves we had in Jersey on October 28, 2018! Ogre & J-Law hoist the Clam!

Above: New names on the trophy by Dan Przygocki After a Nor'easter blew through the coast, the 12th Annual Jetty Clam Jam finally went down on Sunday, October 28th!  The Jam was held at 68th Street in Brant Beach for the first time and naysayers were put to shame by 4-6ft+ hollow waves that pumped from dawn to dusk.  An epic final pitted Steve Carpitella & Josh Law against Jamie Whitesell & Jetty Ambassador Pete Machotka.  J-law instantly scratched through a front side barrel and landed a monstrous floater to open up the heat.  Machotka countered with a big back... NO Jammin'...12th Annual Clam Jam is POSTPONED!

Above: Randy Townsend by Tim Torchia Despite some sizable swell in the water, the 12th Annual Jetty Clam Jam will not run on October 6th or 7th this weekend.  We hold the Jam in high regard and the long period swell + unfavorable winds just isn't doing it for us.  We appreciate everyone (especially wives and girlfriends) juggling their plans and we know that plenty will still jump in this weekend in search of a little window.  If you are in the LBI Region, do join us for a new event, the Oyster Shellabration, which is a fundraiser for our Oyster... ALO Longboard Classic

Our friends at the Alliance for a Living Ocean are proud to present their 10th Annual Longboard Classic!  These guys have run a stellar contest over the years which allows for the use of strictly vintage boards.  We're appreciative of all of the support the ALO provides to us in the form of water stations at our events (reducing plastic use) and assistance during our Stafford Eco-trip.  Cheers to supporting a nonprofit dedicated to our community and environment!    Read More...

Murphy x Townsend Goods

Photog Trevor Murphy travels around the world and puts himself in front of some of the best waves that Mother Ocean has to offer.  It's pretty nice for New Jersey to be a feather in his cap this Winter as swell after swell simply produced the goods.  Jetty Captain Randy Townsend is a common subject on the other side of Trevor's lens, and although they are in two different destinations at the moment, we're amping on this look back to Dirty Jersey...    Read More...

Off the top...

Above: photo courtesy of Susan Allen We've been living in the tube lately, but what about the feeling when you go off the top?!  Most surfers spend their entire surf lives trying to execute the perfect snap, and some ultra small % take it to the next level with a stylish aerial assault!  We'll use Ambassadors Brian Williams (above) and Logan Hayes (below) surfing as prime examples... My Snow Flow's Remarkable...

It's one thing to surf in the cold, and it's another level of commitment to surf in the cold while it's snowing (and windy)!  Check out a little flashback to Winter Storm Grayson with Jetty Ambassador Sean Santiago.  It is amazing how Mother nature can be so raw and beautiful at the same time.  If this doesn't make you want to pick up some new board shorts, we're not sure what will! Tubes All Around

Above: Jetty Ambassador Dave Werner by photog Tim Torchia Warm, mild, cold, or getting colder...we all just want to get shacked!  We've seen some extreme temps in the Northeast over the past couple of weeks, but it hasn't thwarted the hunt.  Elsewhere, in Florida and California, the name of the game and the task at hand remains the same (but those guys at least get to show a little more skin)!
