No Clam Jam Streak at 6...

We're not running out of time, this is just the way that the wait for Clam Jam-worthy surf on a weekend goes!  The Jam will not take place on 10/17 or 10/18 this weekend.  We still have a couple of weekends left in OCT, but note that if it does not go down this month, then we can exercise the option to have it on any day of the week (in November)... Teddy was a Bear...

Above: Randy Townsend courtesy of Jim Givas Hurricane Teddy was a bear, but not the type that you want to poke.  We're sure that plenty of photos will be rolling in, but here are a couple from our hometown heroes Randy Townsend and Pete Machotka in the meantime! 3 Weekends, 3 Delays for Clam Jam

Well, Teddy provided for us, but it was during the week, so we'll continue to wait to host the 14th Annual Jetty Clam Jam.  This marks the 3rd postponement in as many weeks, but we'll patiently proceed and project for the next potential weekend of October 3rd/4th.  Bye September! Welcome Back Machotka!

Pete Machotka is once of the longest standing Jetty Ambassadors.  For a short time he explored some other sponsorship options, but we are happy to say that he has landed back with us!  If you weren't watching the Cold War on Long Beach Island this weekend, then you were probably out there - it was going off!  Here's a few photos from Pete's session... 13th Annual Clam Jam

Wow, we can't believe that we've been running our annual Clam Jam surf contest for 13 years now!  This year, we're opening up another September weekend (2 total) with 4 potential early Fall days to run the event.  We're also dedicating this one to our main man Pat Harrington who is battling through Hodgkin's Lymphoma and some nasty chemo treatments that are going to keep him out of the water for a while.  Registration is now open, and we're seeking sponsorships as well.  Check out all of the details at JettyClamJam.com! The first (96) surfers to register will have their... Read More...

Homers

(Above: Brian Bowker by John Gilman) While a good chunk of the Northeast surf contingent spent the weekend in Belmar at the PRO contest, a few of our Ambassadors scored right in their own backyards!  Check out Jetty crew members Brian Bowker and Tim Daley keeping things honest in Long Beach Island (NJ) and Brigantine (NJ) respectively! RT x ESM x Kyle G

We just received our copies of ESM's June Issue #201 and spotted Jetty Captain Randy Townsend boosting on Page 31!  Kyle Gronostajski always seems to be in the right place, at the right time, and that's due to the fact that he is always game to throw the fins on (.  Kyle was recently out with us assisting with filming the final scene of The Oyster Farmers as well (sneak peak at the Lighthouse International Film Festival).   Read More...

Spring Vibes

The most recent run of swell had nothing on Stella, but it was fun, warm, and felt just a tad more flexible!  On the other side of the epic and threatening waves of the week prior, this time around we actually surfed under the sunlight.  Timmy Torchia was roaming the beach and nabbed the (above) shot of Jetty Ambassador Randy Townsend seeking some shade.  Fellow Ambassador Pete Machotka scored an afternoon session which his Father Bill captured.  Cheers to warmer days! A Stout Stella

As a crew of our good friends shipped off to Indo for a dream trip, Winter Storm Stella delivered a historic blow to the East Coast, and a day to remember, especially for Jersey surfers.  Here's an initial run of photos courtesy of our friends.  There aren't too many boards on these, but those shots will be sure too follow once everyone thaws out and settles down from the enormous amount of stoke (and some editing gets done)! Low Expectations

You usually hear a lot about those days that went off while you were at work, but what about when you're not at work and an unexpected swell fills in?!  Jetty Ambassador Pete Machotka was one of only a handful that weren't sitting home this week thinking that it was flat.  LBI underground ripper Shawn Casey took a short break and snapped this photo of Pete enjoying some Jersey solitude...and for good measure, here's a flashback of Shawn getting shacked on Superbowl Sunday! The Torch is Lit!

Monmouth photog Timmy Torchia has been lighting us up with Crew photos lately!  We all waited a while for waves so it is no surprise that Team Riders Pat Parenty & Cooper Fortney were frothing and all over Ocean/Monmouth County during the past week!   Read More...
