Labin & Weber hoist the Clam!

The 14th Annual Clam Jam went down this past Saturday with Chuck Labin & Royce Weber defeating Randy Townsend & Connor Devaney in the finals.  After (6) weeks of postponement, weekend waves finally graced the Brant Beach section of Long Beach Township from Hurricane Epsilon.  It was another great day on the beach with our LBI Region surf community.  We're looking forward to improving our logistics for #15 next year!  In the meantime, check out our Press Release, the final bracket results and some photos courtesy of Jim Givas Photography.     Read More...

It's on! Clam Jam a go for 10/24/20!

Finally, we have some swell on a weekend, so our 14th Annual Clam Jam will run this Saturday, October 24th!  We may be dealing with some walled out waves, but the size and weather should make for an epic day at 68th Street in Brant Beach.  Surfers should report to the beach no later then 7am.  Food will be provided by the Tide Table Group and the K2 bar will be open.  Let's have a day for the LBI Region surf community! On the Stage: 11am-1pm The Fourth Son / 1pm-3pm The Danksters Photos of the 13th Annual (2019) Jetty... Read More...

Waves of the Future

Above: Photo courtesy of Ryan Mack It's pretty exciting to have a state of the art wave pool right here in our home state of New Jersey.  Jetty Ambassador Randy Townsend recently cashed in a ticket via Skudin Surf @ American Dream as a crew of East Coast all stars hit the pool.  We'd say that the Perect Swell technology made for a pretty damn good Saturday night in East Rutherford! 4X not a charm for CJ

Four potential weekends to hold our 14th Annual Clam Jam, and four without contestable conditions.  We will continue to stay on hold this weekend as the event will not run on 10/3 or 10/4.  At least we've had plenty of practice during the week! Teddy was a Bear...

Above: Randy Townsend courtesy of Jim Givas Hurricane Teddy was a bear, but not the type that you want to poke.  We're sure that plenty of photos will be rolling in, but here are a couple from our hometown heroes Randy Townsend and Pete Machotka in the meantime! Clam Jam Delayed Again...

We're postponing the 14th Annual Jetty Clam Jam once again this weekend - it will not run on September 19th or 20th.  We hope you all scored some waves this past week, we were definitely out of the office quite a bit!  We will continue tracking the tropics while remembering that we love the waves that these storms produce, but they can also wreck homes, entire regions and lives. The Picks Are In!

The bracket has been solidified for the 14th Annual Jetty Clam Jam!  Solidified, but not finalized as we all know that there will be some alternate surfers to swap in when conflicts arise.  If you missed registration and are interested in being an alternate, then please send us an email (Anna@jettylife.com).  We're pumped to start watching the swell forecasts - please stay tuned into this Blog, our social media channels and the Clam Jam Website for the call as each weekend approaches!   Read More...

Welcome Mia Gallagher

Photo & video by Tony Coon Films // Words by Jon Coen Since day one, Jetty has been based on people. And nothing excites us more than seeing the family grow.  We are thrilled to welcome Ocean City, New Jersey’s Mia Gallagher as our newest Jetty Ambassador. We met Mia through the our Coquina Jam. Each of the last several years, she has made the trip up to LBI and brought beachgoers to their feet with her stylish waveriding.  She has won the last two Coquina Jams, in 2019 with Jetty friend and IMSY Swimwear collaborator Katie Imswiler, and in 2020... Boon Island Bucket List

Jetty Ambassador Chris Carragher and friends recently checked off a big bucket list paddle to Boon Island.  It took two hours to get out to the lighthouse, and judging by the amount of seals, the crew was pretty surprised to not see any sharks!  We were stoked to outfit these guys in gear for their quest!  These guys also just raised $6,200 for their local SPCA via their Paddle for the Pups event! 14th Annual Clam Jam

Our 14th Annual Clam Jam is set for Saturday, September 12th should the waves and weather cooperate!  This year will be a little different considering that we don't have the usual Fall conflicts with other events.  That means that any Saturday or Sunday after Labor Day is game on when we see "good" conditions.  If you're a past competitor, then you can register here.  We'll be selecting the random teams at our Back-to-School event on Thursday, September 3rd at Jetty HQ.  We're looking forward to another safe, fun surf event where the rules will stay in place from our recent... Coquina Jam ON for Sunday 8/2

We're a go for Sunday 8/2 this weekend with some South swell hitting the NJ coast!  Our primary aims are fundraising, safety and highlighting the female surf culture as we roll into our 12th installment of the Jetty Coquina Jam (8am to 5pm).  We ask that you please follow the rules so we can enjoy a great day on the beach while uplifting our community!  Also, don't forget to check out the Alliance for a Living Ocean's Longboard Classic on Saturday, August 1st!   Read More...

12th Annual Coquina Jam

It's on!  With some hardcore rules in place we are set to run a safe 12th Annual Jetty Coquina Jam!  We have big goals for David's Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation and our Jetty Rock Foundation who will be splitting the pot this year, but equally donating all profits back to LBI Region Cancer patients in need!  Registration is open for the first (64) female surfers and sponsorships are available.  Please pay special attention to the rules and help us run a safe, organized event that is so close to our hearts and community! Gaiter-ade

When Jetty Ambassador John Streit sent us some fresh fishing photos last month we were already working on replenishing our stock of neck gaiters.  With their obvious uses throughout the pandemic, we quickly pivoted to drop our first Oystex item - the Skiff Neck Gaiter.  From fishing to food shopping, these super comfy, limited edition gaiters will keep you covered up and protected!    Read More...

Atlantic Social Distancing

Above: Jetty Ambassador Tim Daley Last Saturday provided one of those special, juicy days of Jersey surf!  As beaches on the East Coast reopened (or were about to), the Spring day that everyone was waiting for happened...and there were hours of fun barrels to be had while many coastal towns saw an influx of people.  You can't argue with social distancing in the water... Stay Covered Up

Staying covered up will be key to easing back toward normal social conditions.  While we're working on restocking our gaiters, our Ambassadors have been keeping busy underwater and on top of it.  Ryan Leopold (rocking the Apex L/S Solar &  Mary Lee Snapback) wasn't within 20' of another diver while spearing Blackfish and Pete Machotka didn't come close to running anyone over in that backside sneaker! Welcome Back Machotka!

Pete Machotka is once of the longest standing Jetty Ambassadors.  For a short time he explored some other sponsorship options, but we are happy to say that he has landed back with us!  If you weren't watching the Cold War on Long Beach Island this weekend, then you were probably out there - it was going off!  Here's a few photos from Pete's session...
