Back Bay Gaiters

Today you hear a lot about Influencers, but Dave Werner was a Team Rider well before social media, and has always been one of our top Ambassadors!  On a recent trip to the Caribbean, far off the beaten path, Werner's name came up and he was the connection ~ this was 1,600+ miles away from where he helped spread the Jetty vibes in the early 2000's.  Today, Dave is still a man of the water and communicating our brand through his coastal activity.  In this case, he's rocking our neck gaiter and slaying slobs in the back bay.  Cheers to making... Marching into Spring

Above: Ambassador Dave Werner by Matt Reitinger  This Winter certainly wasn't a Top 10-type of season in the Northeast, but on the bright side Spring is here!  New Jersey isn't quite known for swells this time of year, but at least we can spend more time outside and enjoy some more sunlight.  And hey, you never know when an epic session is upon us.  Here's a quick look back at a couple of days in March that didn't disappoint! Winter Wave Showdown

Above: Jetty Ambassador Dave Werner hunting a keg by Kyle Gronostajski There is exactly one month left to submit video of your best NJ Winter tube ride!  Last Wave's Keg Hunter contest runs until March 31st after which we'll be joining them and the rest of the NJ surf community for a party.  On April 18th we'll be celebrating Jersey's surf, film, art and culture...and of course unveiling the best frozen wave cave which is worth $2000 for the winning surfer/videographer duo!  Stay tuned for further details... Dan P. is Out There!

It is a pleasure to have the multi-talented Dan Przygocki in our HQ on a weekly basis!  Dan works production for Jetty Ink, but when the waves turn up, then we turn him loose.  This past week proved to produce some very pretty photos from the lens of a guy who is not afraid to get out there in the middle of Winter! Catching A Wave Through History

Who wouldn't sign up for a class called The Science of Forecasting Waves?!  Our all-around Waterman and Ambassador  Dave Werner teaches this class at Stockton University.  He recently took his class to the Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen's Museum, which is in our backyard, and filled with tons of amazing surf culture / history.  Susan Allen did a great job providing a photo walk through of the visit - Picture Stockton...Catching A Wave Through History.  Dave also brings his class to our facility a couple times a year to learn about our contributions to the community, environment and surfing. Next on Pfeil

The ocean in the Northeast is starting to get that angry look.  We hunker down, but continuously check the waves, waiting for the wind to switch after a big blow.  Here we have longtime Jetty Ambassador Dave Werner pulling into a throaty one on his backside courtesy of Chris Pfeil...and finishing with a solid turn off the top! NO Jammin'...12th Annual Clam Jam is POSTPONED!

Above: Randy Townsend by Tim Torchia Despite some sizable swell in the water, the 12th Annual Jetty Clam Jam will not run on October 6th or 7th this weekend.  We hold the Jam in high regard and the long period swell + unfavorable winds just isn't doing it for us.  We appreciate everyone (especially wives and girlfriends) juggling their plans and we know that plenty will still jump in this weekend in search of a little window.  If you are in the LBI Region, do join us for a new event, the Oyster Shellabration, which is a fundraiser for our Oyster... Tubes All Around

Above: Jetty Ambassador Dave Werner by photog Tim Torchia Warm, mild, cold, or getting colder...we all just want to get shacked!  We've seen some extreme temps in the Northeast over the past couple of weeks, but it hasn't thwarted the hunt.  Elsewhere, in Florida and California, the name of the game and the task at hand remains the same (but those guys at least get to show a little more skin)! Holiday Scales

Above: Jetty Ambassador Dave Werner  The story has always revolved around the water and the feeling that they got gliding over it, diving through it, and pulling fish from it.  Three wise men once etched that on the back of a (Jetty Session) beer can and it remains true today just as much as it did 15 years ago.  Check out a few recent photos of our Ambassadors and extended fam pursuing their passions with the rod & reel! The Slater Day

(Above: Pat Parenty by Keith Forsythe) Well, so much for saying that October was a slow month for waves in Jersey as it ended with a phenomenal run including what will surely be dubbed The Slater Day.  The King surfed Monmouth County and took over Insta, but a ton of other frothing natives who look up to him got slabs as well!  Check out a few Jetty Ambassadors that found treats a day early on Mischief Night... Fish or Famine

(Above) Dave Werner snagging some doormats Summertime, and the livin' is easy...a fair assessment considering the seasonality of the Northeast.  Our Ambassadors in the region see it no differently as they soak up the sun, enjoy the warm water, get up a bit earlier, and get a little more done during these dog days.  Take a peek at what our crew has been up to, it's probably very similar to what you and your family have been enjoying! Travel & Teach

Larney & The Homeboys

Back to that Nor'easter

Last week's Nor'easter caused some serious damage, but surfers got over the wind, rain, and flooding quite easily.  Here are a few more Jersey slabs (before and after the storm) featuring Jetty Ambassadors Dave Werner, Pat Parenty, and Cooper Fortney.  You can also check out ESM's Nor'easter Swell Gallery for a nice look at how things lit up on the entire East Coast... Mid-week Goldies

Jetty Ambassador Dave Werner escaped his classroom and found enough daylight to get a session in this past week!  Even the smaller shacks are fun when it is north of 50 degrees in January in New Jersey.  Check out the pure beauty captured by photog Dan Pryzgocki!   Read More...

The Cold is Here...

Surfing in the cold is definitely not preferable, but there is a special feeling when you get a sick one in the full getup!  Last Wednesday was the first Winter-feeling swell in Jersey even though the season does not officially start until December 21st.  Jetty Ambassadors Sam Seeland & Dave Werner both felt great pulling off their hoods after the sun had set on 12/7/16 (Photo Credit: Dave Lospinoso // Video Credit: Ryan Similchik).
