Straight from the Shed

The Fortney family is currently putting their hand-shaped Shed Surfboards to use in the Caribbean.  What's better then escaping the cold in some Jetty boardies except for doing so on a board that you shaped yourself?!  It's always good to see Cooper & Keaton going bowl for bowl! Central Jersey Stoke

Above: Pat Parenty by Timmy Torchia Stoke levels are high this Summer and with a recent run of small, fun waves, our Central Jersey contingent has been spending plenty of time in the water!  Jetty Ambassadors Timmy Torchia, Pat Parenty, James Contreras and Cooper Fortney all attended our first ever Jetty Summit meeting this past Friday and we'll have a nice wrap-up about that soon.  Clearly, these guys are dedicated to spreading the positive vibes of our brand and are always working hard to obtain that DYOL content! Keaton's Podium Finish

Jetty Ambassador Keaton Fortney carried on the family tradition and brought home some hardware from the NSSA Nationals at Salt Creek.  His 3rd place Varsity Longboard finish added to his brother Cooper's 2015 results, both leading the Manasquan High School Surf Team across the country.  Yup, there's going to be a great, brotherly rivalry at home to see who can fill up the trophy case! Turkey Tubes & Stuffing

Above: Jetty Ambassador Cooper Fortney by Shaun Devine * This past Thanksgiving break did not disappoint as many spots offered up a full plate of waves to be ripped!  The Fortney clan spent their Holiday on the Outer Banks and happened to be surfing at the same spot as Jetty Ambassador John Streit.  Lucky for them, Jetty Ambassador Shaun Devine, who has been temporarily sidelined with an injury, was behind the lens!  Spanning to the South (FL) and to the West (CA), you can see that Jetty Ambassadors Logan Hayes & Chris Mansor were respectively thrashing as well! Fortney @ Flagler

(Above: Cooper Fortney by Matt Pinckney) Jetty Ambassador Cooper Fortney has assimilated into the St. Augustine surf scene quite naturally.  He's attending school, paddling for the surf team, and hanging with the younger Florida grom Ben Wingate!  Flagler College posted a win in their first meet too! Fish or Famine

(Above) Dave Werner snagging some doormats Summertime, and the livin' is easy...a fair assessment considering the seasonality of the Northeast.  Our Ambassadors in the region see it no differently as they soak up the sun, enjoy the warm water, get up a bit earlier, and get a little more done during these dog days.  Take a peek at what our crew has been up to, it's probably very similar to what you and your family have been enjoying! Bajan Bros

Check out a little flashback featuring Jetty Ambassadors Cooper & Keaton Fortney.  These guys had a chance to enjoy the Caribbean this Winter and are likely saving up for their next trip!  Until then, they can bask in these blue water memories taken by Donna Fortney, but that doesn't mean they aren't on every swell back home in Jersey too!  Here's Cooper this past week through the lens of Alex Fatenko...     Read More...

Fortney Fam Abroad

The Fortney family is truly the best example of what The Jetty Life is all about!  Photos from their surf trips are what most people click through, but it is their weekly grind that puts them in the position to spend time abroad together.  They have a deep dedication to their community in Monmouth County, instilling in their sons (both Jetty ambassadors) that hard work can pay big dividends, this time in the form of warm waves while spending time in the Caribbean bonding! Back to that Nor'easter

Last week's Nor'easter caused some serious damage, but surfers got over the wind, rain, and flooding quite easily.  Here are a few more Jersey slabs (before and after the storm) featuring Jetty Ambassadors Dave Werner, Pat Parenty, and Cooper Fortney.  You can also check out ESM's Nor'easter Swell Gallery for a nice look at how things lit up on the entire East Coast... Election Day '16 certainly caused some commotion on land, but surfers enjoyed a busy day at sea after voting too!  The Inertia ran Timmy Torchia's Jersey's 2016 Election Day Swell gallery featuring Team Riders Pat Parenty & Cooper Fortney.  A little further North, Team Rider Owen O'donnell checked in with a quick video shot by Ethan Blatt!  Owen O'donnell - Election Day from Jetty on Vimeo.   Read More...

The Mentor

Following up our most recent post on Keaton Fortney, let's check in on his older brother and mentor, Cooper Fortney!  Coop has had his share of the contest limelight, from NSSA championships to local events, but it's his out of the water demeanor which most impresses us.  Here's a recent shot courtesy of Alex Fatenko as we absorb everything wonderful about the Fortney family! The Torch is Lit!

Monmouth photog Timmy Torchia has been lighting us up with Crew photos lately!  We all waited a while for waves so it is no surprise that Team Riders Pat Parenty & Cooper Fortney were frothing and all over Ocean/Monmouth County during the past week!   Read More...

East Coast Revival

After a long, hot, and flat Summer, feeling some power beneath your feet out there yesterday definitely felt reviving.  Knowing that the tropics are lighting up brings hope to all of us East Coast heads who worked hard for the past three months and didn't really get to surf much.  Here's Jetty Team Rider Cooper Fortney pulling in on what is hopefully one of many fun days of surf to come!
