Legends of the Jams

Bill Machotka & Randy Budd, our absolute rock star operators of the Clam & Coquina Jams, are hanging up their mics this year!  Make no doubt about it, we're sad, but these two professionals have put in more then their fair share of volunteer hours planning, organizing, setting up, running and breaking down our surf events.  We will forever be indebted to them for their service and contribution toward growing our community events!  As we approach our 12th Annual Coquina Jam, we'd love for some ladies to step up and volunteer!  If interested, please fill out the Coquina Jam Volunteer... See A Spray, Send A Spray

Above: Ryan Leopold by Rick Leopold There are a lot of challenges out there keeping us active during the quarantine!  The #SeeASpraySendASpray has everyone stoked, plus it is fun to dig through old surf photos if you don't have a freshie.  Here are a few Jetty Ambassadors throwing serious spray just in the last week or so... The Life of Riley: Part V

Yes, we're still sorting through a slew of photos from Winter Storm Riley!  This time around we're featuring Jetty Ambassador Pete Machotka who told us...I didn't remember most of them.  I got so slammed on every paddle and it was so much work that the whole day felt like one big beating!  We beg to differ Pete, these photos from your pops look like you were handing out the beatings! 11th Annual Clam Jam review

Above: Preparing for the first heat by Shawn Casey  This was a funky year with a long wait during the Clam Jam window, but it finally went down on Sunday, November 19th!  A nearly full bracket of (93) LBI Region surfers competed all day in surf that ranged from 2-6 ft with strong offshore winds.  At the end of the day, Randy Townsend & Evan Zodl defeated Billy Webster & Conor Willem in a very close final.  Some of the best surfers rose to the top in challenging conditions while newcomers enjoyed their first time Jam experiences.  Check out the Press... Spring Vibes

The most recent run of swell had nothing on Stella, but it was fun, warm, and felt just a tad more flexible!  On the other side of the epic and threatening waves of the week prior, this time around we actually surfed under the sunlight.  Timmy Torchia was roaming the beach and nabbed the (above) shot of Jetty Ambassador Randy Townsend seeking some shade.  Fellow Ambassador Pete Machotka scored an afternoon session which his Father Bill captured.  Cheers to warmer days! Green Lantern

Let's face it, the waves in the Northeast are not especially pretty this time of year!  Amidst the gloom though, we all suit up and take advantage of what the ocean has to offer.  It might be pretty grey from behind the lens, but Jetty Ambassador Pete Machotka shined in that bright Hyperflex suit on several occasions recently!  Here are a few choice photos from Chris Pfeil & Bill Machotka...   Read More...

Father & Son

In the spirit of the Clam Jam, and just following the 10th Annual, Jetty Hall of Fam'r Bill Machotka snapped hundreds of shots of his son Pete!  Our longtime Team Rider has definitely taken advantage of this great Fall run of waves on the East Coast!   Read More...
