Charlotte's Victory Celebration

Earlier this month, a local resident reached out for assistance in celebrating her daughter's 3rd birthday.  Charlotte Scalese and her family were told that if her high risk neuroblastoma wasn't treated, then she wouldn't see her next birthday.  This past July it was officially declared that Charlotte was in remission!  Drawing on the few dollars left to be donated from our Arctic Outreach event, we were happy to assist by providing a Mister Softee truck on site for the party!  We are now within $10,000 of hitting the $1.5 million mark in donations via Jetty + Jetty Rock Foundation since... Australian Aid

It's a great feeling when our fans come to us when a natural disaster occurs.  It is also sometimes very tough to figure out how we can make the most impact in any particular situation.  In the case of the Australian fires, we vetted a family through a great friend as well as the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Going back to our own experience with Superstorm Sandy, we feel great about getting donations to the people that need them most, and the organizations that have boots on the ground.  As you can see by the photos below, there is mass... Life on the Edge Trail Donation

This year we supported the Shamrocks for the Shore 5K which enabled us to donate $1,674.80 to the Life on the Edge Interpretive Trail.  The new, educational trail is a part of The Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve (JC NERR) and exists on the Grassle Marsh. Our donation, thanks to the event sponsors and participating runners, allows for tree work along the trail and a bench on the raised boardwalk.  The trail is an outdoor compliment to the Life on the Edge exhibit at the Tuckerton Seaport and supports teacher professional development, coastal decision-maker training, and family/public programs. Stafford Eco-trip

Earlier this week we helped execute the Stafford Intermediate School Eco-trip for the 3rd straight year!  This initiative brings 300+ 6th graders to the Barnegat Light State Park to learn about our environment.  We had some great volunteer help from MATES Academy and the Alliance for a Living Ocean.  We also linked up with Speakeasy Pizzeria to make sure all of the students had lunch!  This donation was made possible by the Jetty Rock Foundation and your direct support of our events such as Hop Sauce Festival! Jetty Future Leaders

Last week we kicked off our Future Leaders program at Southern Regional High School!  We're stoked moving into year #2 of helping to educate students in Southern's Entrepreneurship elective class on small business through a hands-on approach.  The students form groups, pick a charity within the school, create products, and then print, market, and sell them.  A $10,000 donation via our Jetty Rock Foundation  allows the students to work with a real budget and the proceeds from the garment sales are directed to the charities of their choice! St. Francis Back-to-School Initiative

We recently donated $1,000 via our Jetty Rock Foundation to the St. Francis Community Center's back-to-school initiative.  We're not trying to fast forward anyone's Summer, but when students in need of a back pack are ready to roll, then we're stoked to make sure that they have one!   Read More...
