"You're Different" by The Shelters

This week we're traveling cross country to bring you some SoCal vibes via The Shelters!  They released their Sophmore effort back in September, Jupiter Sidecar, and although it has a super talented roster from a production/mixing/engineering standpoint, it should be noted that the legendary Tom Petty had produced their debut album (The Shelters; 2016).  After Petty's tragic passing (October 2, 2017), the band strived to get back into the studio and grow.  Check out You're Different! "Everyone Hides" by Wilco

We're sure that fans of Chicago's Wilco were pleased to see an end to the group's performing hiatus as well as the release of their 11th studio album Ode to Joy!  Like so many bands, the members have changed over the years, but the current 6-piece has been together since the early/mid 2000's.  On the new album, they continue their long journey of twisting and turning through multiple genres.  Check out the upbeat video for Everyone Hides! "Peach Fuzz" by CAAMP

CAAMP is a folk trio from Columbus, OH, and they're definitely on the come up!  About a year ago someone in our HQ brought the band up, we made note, then in the midst of a crazy busy Summer we missed their second full-length, By and By.  We're glad that we circled back because, as their website boasts, they make beautiful noise.  These guys aren't by any means unknown as they've played a bunch of top-tier festivals and toured all over, but we bet there are plenty of people who are yet to check them out (and they need to)!... "Sister Rosetta" by Frank Turner

Sister Rosetta is just one of the songs off of Frank Turner's new album which celebrates women.  In this case, Turner is referring to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the often forgotten American singer from the 30's who helped pave the way for later Rock & Rollers like Elvis and Johnny Cash.  No Man's Land, due out in mid August, features 13 tracks that focus on female heroism.   Read More...

"Take You out Tonight" by STS & Khari Mateen

STS (Sugar Tongue Slim) & Khari Mateen might not be household names in your world, but they've been behind some really great music for quite some time now.  Spring Summer Collection 19 is their second release in the past two years offering just an abundance of style - simply put, they are two distinctly different artists that unite to give us an amazing collaboration.  Khari's CA roots and Slim's ATL upbringing meshed when they both moved to Philly.  Do some digging through whichever music platform you live on, you'll see that these two super talents are bound for more success... "Alligator" by Of Monsters and Men

In a couple of weeks Of Monsters and Men will drop their third album, Fever Dream.  The new single, Alligator, is certainly anthemic despite shedding the folk skin that its ancestors like Little Talks and Dirty Paws beamed onto so many playlists with.  For a band whose origins began from entering an annual music competition in Iceland, its uplifting to see them grow and bring so much energy to a worldwide stage. "Go" by The Black Keys

The real magic happens when Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are together as The Black Keys!  They're back with their first full length in five years, twelve tracks of straight rock hence the album title which alludes to the first execution in Tennessee in 16 years (which occurred during recording).  Check out Go! "Strands Align" by Night Moves

This week we're featuring Minneapolis band Night Moves!  They just dropped their 3rd album, Can You Really Find Me, which is getting great reviews and perhaps too many comparisons to greats from the 70's era.  We only say that because we love a solid, underrated band and would advocate to let them Draw Their Own Line!  Enjoy their fun video for Strands Align! It's about the notion that... Read More...

"Inside Out" by Klassy

Once in a while a new emcee really connects the dots.  Klassy's debut album Dirty Cortez sports soulful beats and sharp lyricism attacking tough subjects that plague our daily newswires.  The 7 song EP is a smooth listen through that digs much deeper then the head-nodding beats.  The Dirty Hernan interlude smack in the middle speaks on Nike's classic track sneaker and how it ties history to LA's current issues.  Ultimately though, Klassy breathes positivity and calls for change for the better...for her, for her kids and for all of us.     Read More...
