Raymond Mathis began exploring his craft when he worked as a farrier, using the fire in the back of his truck to create his first pieces of art. In 1988, he moved into his first studio in Bucks County, Pennsylvania creating work from his original designs using centuries-old techniques. Working in a variety of materials such as steel, copper, bronze, stainless steel, stone, and hand-blown glass, Mathis collaborates not only with private clients but with designers, architects, landscape professionals, and public art committees.
