Artwork Guidlelines
One of the greatest elements that Jetty Ink brings to the table is our artwork! Since we started by creating our own brand, Jetty, we love creating custom logos and designs for our customers! We can help you translate an idea, sketch or drawing into print-ready artwork as well! Whether you need a design or have one ready to be printed, please read through the following Artwork Guidelines.
Artwork Guidelines
You will approve all artwork via mock-up prior to printing. Our In-House Artist will create mock-ups showing design placement, size & color for each garment.
We cannot print directly from .jpg or .gif files, Quark, Word, Works, Excel or Office Files. We can use these formats as a reference and recreate your design into a print ready format.
There are two acceptable types of print-ready artwork, Vector Art & Raster Art.
Vector Art
Save or export your design as an Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file at 100% of the size you need printed.
Convert all type to outlines or supply us with the actual fonts used so they are in our library when your file requests
them. If providing us with a multi-color design, assign each color being used as a spot color. Please do not use
placed raster images in your design.
Raster Art
Save or export your design as an Adobe Photoshop (.psd) file at 100% of the size you need printed
with a minimum resolution of 200 pixels/inch. Make sure to rasterize all type or supply us with the actual fonts used
so they are in our library when your file requests them. If providing us with a multi-color design, assign each color
being used its own spot channel. If your design is being printed on dark garments include a white spot channel for
all of your additional colors to print on top of. Please keep Photoshop files in layers, do not flatten the file.
The Difference Between Vector Art & Raster Art
Please check the following link if you still have questions about the difference between Vector Art vs. Raster Art. Remember that Vecotr Art is best and Raster Art must be sized properly so that you do not incur any additional art charges. Check out the difference here!
Colors
We use Pantone Colors when we print. Because monitor colors may vary, defining Pantone Colors is the
best way to ensure we print with the correlated colors you envision in your design.
What are Pantone Colors?
Pantone is a U.S. company who, in 1962, introduced a color space plan. Pantone covers every color, from pitch black to a day-glow
yellow. Each color has its own Pantone number and “recipe.” The company issues a flipbook filled with swatch cards featuring the full
range of color possibilities and assigning each a unique code. Canada, South Korea and other nations actually have legislation stating which
Pantone colors are to be used in their flags.
Mock-Ups
Turn around times on mock-ups vary based on how many designs mock-ups are needed for, the
format the art was provided in and how detailed the design is. There is generally a 2-4 day turn around.
