Underdog is playing the Asbury Lanes this Saturday so we felt it was apropos to post their only video! Since linking up with these guys, we’ve been able to skate with Russ Iglay quite a bit up in Belmar, NJ, dude kills it! We’re hoping to also get a surf session in soon with his brother Dean, who by the looks of this video, surfs smooth and with style! It’s refreshing to see that this band participates in the activities which have inspired them to write and play their music. Check out the flyer for their upcoming show here! In this 3rd installment of The Urchin Life we profile one of our greatest customers, Farias’ Surf & Sport, where many of our great friends work in their 3 store locations on Long Beach Island, NJ. Farias’ has carried the Jetty brand from day 1! The Jetty Urchins have done a phenomenal job putting these videos together on a weekly basis and rumor has it the next couple will feature Team Riders Randy Townsend and Brian Bowker! We are stoked for Rick Starick’s full length surf video premiering tomorrow @ Farias’ Surf & Sport (Ship Bottom, NJ; 8pm). Jetty Team Rider Randy Townsend is one of the featured surfers and Rick has also done some video work for us! We are really looking forward to seeing Randy and a host of our other LBI friends tearing it up worldwide! There is information on additional showings of the movie at the After Eleven website.

Head Jetty Urchin Kevin Rauen & Jetty Ink employee Tony Coon created The Urchin Life, a video series that will explore Jetty from the inside out. The camera will follow our 9 summer interns (Jetty Urchins) as they work both inside and outside of the Jetty warehouse tackling tasks dealing with everything from production to marketing. In Volume 1, Kev & Tone decided to interview myself & Cory Higgins, the operating co-owners of Jetty. We hope the back-story of how our brand began serves as an interesting start to The Urchin Life series. Future episodes will certainly entertain as our Urchins, employees, team riders and extended family create and live The Jetty Life!

We will be hitting up Baltimore, MD on the Jetty Parks & Pizza Skate Tour this August and Vu Skateshop will definitely be a stopping point! Vu is celebrating their 3 year anniversary, congrats boys, oh my how time flies! We’re looking forward to catching up with our old friend Gary Smith, Jetty Team Rider Ryan Boblits and the rest of the crew.
