Jetty

Congrats to Jetty team rider Jamie DeWitt Baittinger who took third in the pro women’s division at the East Coast Surf Championships (ECSC) last weekend! Here’s a full wrap up from ESM including a couple of shots of Jamie.

Formerly known as Varton & the Sand Crabs, Brian Parnagian, Jared Temple & Steve McGlynn have been polishing their sound and have really taken a step forward with their band, Nicotine & Brown (official Facebook page & MySpace page). These guys played in the lobby at our New Year’s Eve bash last year and also at a viewing of A Pleasant Surprise back on August 2nd @ the Long Beach Township ball field. Brian has surfed for Jetty since our inception and Jared just did a little modeling work for our Fall/Winter shoot (photos coming soon)! Great guys, great vibes – we highly suggest checking out one of their shows!

We’re on for the 2nd annual, all-female surf contest tomorrow (Wednesday, 8/25) @ 5pm at 68th Street in Brant Beach. Come on out and support the 32, brave, LBI-area women who are competing in the bracket-style, team-oriented surf tournament! The contest also benefits breast cancer so attending the beach and buying a slice of pizza, plate of clams, soda, water, jetty coozie or Coquina Jam T will help us raise money for a great cause (Boarding for Breast Cancer). After a short lapse we’ve reconnected with Jetty flow skater Billy Glatz and my oh my has he grown up! Billy recently landed an ad in the latest Focus Skate Mag as he continues his quest to be the next Fresh Find. Billy comes from a great and very supportive family and we’re proud to be back in touch and helping to support his skateboarding! Check out a few more photos here or click on the photo below. One of our beloved Jetty urchins, Dennis O’Connor, recently took a job out in San Diego, CA – congrats man! Dennis was “the intern” during the summer of 2009 and was a pleasant addition to our family, but just because he “has to be a grown up professional” that doesn’t mean he’ll lose involvement with the Jetty brand. His training in Los Angeles, San Diego & Connecticut is just about done and he’ll be making San Diego (PB) his new home. He recently picked up a dumpster diver, surfed Malibu with some major heavies and even got a shot with Mick! Dude, it’s okay, we believe you that it was laundry day thus no Jetty shirt in the photo!
