Jetty

Thanks to Jetty urchin Steve Smith, we traditionally have a little Jetty tent sale & BBQ in Harvey Cedars, NJ at the end of every summer. Steve’s working out on the west coast, but his stoked neighbors, The Gilmans’ are carrying on tradition! Come up to 15 East Burlington Avenue in Harvey Cedars (beach front) on Saturday, September 4th for the sale!

What:
The 2nd Annual Coquina Jam is an all-female surf contest which benefits breast cancer awareness – proceeds go to Boarding for Breast Cancer.

Team Selections:
The first 32 paid entries will have their names written on clam shells. On August 11th, at The Black Whale, we will randomly select the 2-woman teams which are based on age. The median age is found, the girls are split into 2 pools and then teams are selected with one girl coming from each pool. There are still spots available – please email us at info@jettylife.com for an entry form and waiver.

The Contest:
Surfers are to report to the 68th Street beach at 4pm on Wednesday, August 18th. At 5pm sharp, the first heat will be in the water as 32 female surfers will compete for the coveted Coquina Jam trophy. The final four teams advance and compete at the Clam Jam in October (10/17)! The NO WAVE DATE is the following Wednesday, August 25th.

Fundraising:
Speakeasy Pizza & The Black Whale have donated pizza and clams which will be for sale on the beach. Jetty will also be selling pink coozies, soda, water & event t-shirts. We will also be running a raffle with the ALO and the prize is a brand new Jetty surfboard! Come out and support local female surfers and a great cause from 5pm-dark on Wednesday, August 18th @ 68th Street in Brant Beach (no wave date 8/25).

Join us at 6pm in the Long Beach Township ball field (6805 Long Beach Blvd) for a special viewing of “A Pleasant Surprise”. The 16mm surf film by Kyle Pahlow & Nick Zegel takes an honest look at some of NJ’s best surfers. Before the film is shown at dark, Nicotine & Brown will be performing live and tents by Jetty & Swell Colors will provide merchandise. The Southern Regional Surf Team will also be running a fundraiser at this event! Bring your beach towels and chairs for a great night presented by Long Beach Township & Jetty!

Jetty & The Alliance for a Living Ocean have teamed up once again to kick off the summer at The Black Whale Bar & Fish House. Come on out on Wednesday, July 7th @ 10pm for the premiere of Cold Water, a 50/50 raffle with great prizes & a slideshow by Jonathan Hoover.
