ALO: Be A Surf Steward!
Long Beach Island’s Alliance for a Living Ocean (ALO) wants you to be a surf steward! As surfers we are an “indicator species” meaning that we are physically in the water more then most anybody else, thus we know when there is a problem! The ALO’s new program asks surf instructor’s to incorporate a 1-minute environmental lesson into each surf lesson and goes a step further asking all surfers to be surf stewards for the ocean & beaches.
